Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami

A 30-something Tsukuru Tazaki begins a pilgrimage to discover why his four best friends from high school announced during his first year at university that they no longer wanted him part of their lives. Tsukuru finally decides to unravel the highly emotional mystery because of his desire to have an intimate, connected relationship with Sara, whom he’s just begun to date.
