When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris

Sedaris deals with his mid-life crisis in these thoroughly entertaining and well-crafted essays. I’m constantly amazed at how he can weave seemingly disparate topics together to make meaningful messages. They are always camouflaged in comedy. He makes addiction sound so deceptively innocent. And his old, potty-mouthed neighbour is fantastic, as are his adventures with Normandy’s wild life.
