By Nightfall by Michael Cunningham

I’ve read everything by Michael Cunningham because I love his tone and language. He captures the subtleties of everyday life and the often unspeakable insights just wonderfully. By Nightfall is his latest. It tells of a husband and wife in midlife, and how their sores are exacerbated when her younger brother comes to stay with them. Although I found the love story a bit unbelievable, the whole novel was beautifully done.
