Last Exit to Brooklyn by Hubert Selby Jr.

Raw. Graphic. Vivid. This book actually made me gasp aloud and, at other times, want to hurl it across the room because I felt nauseous. I think it’s incredible that writing can do that to you. And this book is incredible. So are the despicable characters who still manage to show the whole range of being human, even if they err on the most twisted side of it.
